JF Webb Men’s Lacrosse “Warrior Games” Preseason Scrimmage & Youth Clinic- The JF Webb Men’s lacrosse team will host the 3rd annual “Warrior Games” preseason scrimmage and youth lacrosse clinic on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Diamonds of Oxford Park. Boys aged 5th - 8th grade are invited to a free lacrosse clinic, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. The clinic will be run by Coach David Farabee, head varsity men’s lacrosse coach, coaches and players from the varsity Men’s lacrosse team. All equipment will be provided, but boys can bring their own sticks if available. Following the clinic, Webb will welcome five area high school lacrosse teams for a series of round robin scrimmages, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The clinic and scrimmages are free. Baseball & Softball Registration- accepting Baseball and Softball registrations for the 2012 Season.  The Baseball Program is for ages 3-12 and the Softball Program is for ages 6-17.  Baseball age divisions are based on ages on May 1, 2012 and Softball Age Divisions are based on December 31, 2011.  The registration fees are $35 for City residents and $45 for non-City residents.  Wee Ball (3-4yr olds) fees are $30 for City and $40 for non-City residents.  The deadline for registration is March 8, 2012.  Register at the Recreation Department or download a registration form online, fill out and return with fee.  *Wee Ball (3-4) and Girls Softball 13-17 will start later in the Spring than the other recreation leagues.  Click here to download the flier for the programs.

 

 

2012 Race For Life-  Runners and Walkers get ready.  The 2012 Race for Life, sponsored by the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department will be held on March 24th in Oxford with the 5K Race and Walk, and a 1Mile Fun Run and Walk that morning.  This event is great fun for the family as well as for the serious runner. Thanks to the faithful sponsors of this event,  all proceeds and entry fees are sent directly to the American Cancer Society for research to find a cure for cancer.  Click here to download the registration flier.  You may register online at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=2010337

Cookies and Milk with Santa- Santa Claus came to Hix gym on Tuesday, December 13, from 9:30-11:30am. Little ones got to see Santa got to share with him their wish list and have their picture taken with him. Santa brought cookies and milk to share with all the good little boys and girls.  Click here to view pictures from Santa's visit.

 

Senior Christmas Social- Seniors and Senior Walkers came and enjoyed the Holiday Season with the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department on Thursday, December 15, from 6:30am-10:30am at Hix Gym. Juice, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit and biscuits were served for all to enjoy while Christmas music was playing in the background.  Click here to view pictures from the Social.
