Summer Tennis Camp-  Camp begins on June 15th at the D.N. Hix Tennis courts on Spring St.  Each session will run Monday-Friday for a total of 5 lessons.  Fees for the camp are $25 for city residents and $35 for non city residents. 

 

Classes and Times Below:

9am-10:30am - Ages 8-11 Beginner Children

10:30am-12pm - Ages 12 & Up Intermediate Children

4pm-5:30pm - Ages 12 & Up Intermediate Children

5:30pm-6:30pm - Adult Intermediate

June 15 - 19 Session 1

June 29 - July 3 Session 2

July 13 - 17 Session 3

July 20 - 24 (Sports Camp)

August 3 - 7 Session 4

August 17 - 21 Session 5

 

J.F. Webb Girls Basketball Camp-  Basketball camp for girls aged 8 and older held on June 22-25.  Girls aged 8-11 will attend 9am to 10:30am.  Girls aged 12 and up 10:30am to 12pm. 

 

Volleyball Camp-  Volleyball camp for grades 3-8 held on July 13-15, 9am-12pm.  The fees for the camp are $40.

 

 

 

Summer Sports Camp-  One week camp offered to boys and girls, ages 6 to 12.   Introduction to multiple sports - " a little taste of each."  This includes, but is not limited to the major sports, tennis, golf, and swimming.  Concludes with a pool party and cookout.  Camp runs from July 20-24, 9am to 12pm.  Camp fees are $50.

2009 Oxford Race For Life-  Many participants braved the less than ideal weather to raise money for the Relay for Life 5k and 1 mile Fun Run & Walk on March 14.  All money raised will go towards cancer research.  Participants were from fast to slow, young and old!!!  Click the following link to view race results http://results.active.com/pages/page.jsp?eventID=1687855Click here to view pictures from the event.

 

 

Eat Smart, Move More Exercise Class- The Oxford Parks and Recreation Department with the Henderson Family YMCA are offering a free exercise class at Hix Gym Aerobics Room.  The class will be held on Monday and Thursday nights 5:30 to 6:15pm.  Wear comfortable clothes and bring water! Let’s get moving and come ready to sweat!  The class is free so come out!!!

 

Easter Egg Hunt - Oxford Parks and Recreation hosted our annual Easter Egg hunt on Tuesday, April 7th, at 10:00am at the Oxford Recreational Complex.  Children, 5 years old and younger came and met the Easter Bunny and picked up thousands of eggs that covered the field. Some special eggs contained prizes for those lucky enough to find them.  Click here to view pictures from this year's hunt.
